Attenuator Types
Tee Attenuator
Symmetrical T-network with equal series resistances. Provides balanced attenuation with good impedance matching.
R1 = R3 = Z₀(K-1)/(K+1)
R2 = Z₀(2K)/(K²-1)
R2 = Z₀(2K)/(K²-1)
Pi Attenuator
Symmetrical π-network with equal shunt resistances. Alternative to T-attenuator with similar characteristics.
R1 = R3 = Z₀(K+1)/(K-1)
R2 = Z₀(K²-1)/(2K)
R2 = Z₀(K²-1)/(2K)
Bridged Tee
Modified T-network with additional bridging resistance. Provides better performance at higher frequencies.
R1 = Z₀(K-1)/(K+1)
R2 = Z₀(K+1)/(K-1)
R3 = Z₀(K²-1)/(2K)
R2 = Z₀(K+1)/(K-1)
R3 = Z₀(K²-1)/(2K)
L-Pad
Simple two-resistor network. Used for impedance matching and basic attenuation applications.
R1 = Z₀(K-1)/K
R2 = Z₀/(K-1)
R2 = Z₀/(K-1)
